Malinchista is Sam’s second Book and her Bachelorproject. The Story alternates between autobiographical parts and historical, mythological narratives of mexican culture, both of which raise similar questions.
What does it mean to grow up between different cultures? Where do we belong? Who and what defines us? How many lives do we carry within us?
While reading the book, we encounter black and white images that Sam has constructed from her memories. The colourful drawings immerse ourselves in the mysthical world of la Virgen de Guadalupe and introduce us to Malinche, the mother of el mestizaje.
