Sam Ramer (she/her, b. 1996) is a Mexican-Swiss artist, illustrator, drummer and vocalist based in Zurich, Switzerland. In her practice Ramer conceives drawing as a form of language with which she merges apparent opposites such as darkness with softness, roughness with fragility. Her recent work investiagtes the borderlands, both tangible and intangible, that she's navigating daily, by drawing on figures such as the Virgen de Guadalupe to question protocols and forms of narrative in or associated with the West.
She studied Stagedesign at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and finished her Bachelor in Illustration Fiction at Hochschule Luzern. Sam is part of the Bands Radon and 222Rn.
